Yes, I am a Terrible Blogger

I know, I know. I keep making promises not to disappear and then I ... disappear. Sorry. Suffice it to say that mothering three boys thru the last month of summer is ... exhausting? Insanity causing? Traumatizing? Hilarious? All of the above?

But the kidlets (read monsters) are safely back in school now, even my youngest who started preschool like the big boy he is (read hysterical tears from both my youngest and myself). Of course, this means I'm back to being a chauffer-- between tae kwon do, guitar lessons, art lessons, football practice, baseball practice and three different school on three different schedules ... I'm sure you get the drift. Plus, we just celebrated two birthdays and my husband is traveling pretty much nonstop for the next three months. Sound crazy, yet?

But enough about me. I've missed you guys. What have you been up to? What have you been reading? I just finished Dark Peril by Christine Feehan and Renegade by Lora Leigh, as well as a slew of YA novels by Elizabeth Scott. My new YA obsession, btw, is Rachel Caine. I've gone through all her Morganville vampire series and am now starting on her Weather Warden series. And since I'm an idiot who got carried away at B and N on Tuesday and bought two of her latest book, Total Eclipse, I thought I'd give one away. So leave a comment responding to this post by Sunday (when I will be in birthday party hell) and I will pick a winner.

Have a wonderful weekend! Oh, and if you happen to live in the Central Texas area, the fabulous Julie Kenner/J.K. Beck, Emily McKay and I are doing a joint booksigning at the Barnes and Noble in the Austin arboreteum tomorrow afternoon. Stop by and say hello :)

  1. Ah, yes. Definitely all of the above in regards to kids (or in my case siblings).

Good luck with the B-day party occasion!

And only throw my name in if its international. ;)

  2. Sounds like you've had a busy summer. My kids are grown, but we just got my grandkids back in school and the fundraisers have started already, YAH!! Not!! Hope the birthday party goes well.

  3. Oh, Linda, I know. I can't believe how many papers I've gotten hitting me up for money-- some in fundraiser form, some not. But still, glad they are out of the house and no longer trying to kill each other (at least between the hours of 8 and 3).

Kayleigh, of course you're entered! And good luck with the siblings.

Thanks for the birthday party wishes. I'll let you know what happens :)

  4. Hi Tracy!!

Busy here too, my oldest is moving out and away and so we've been busy shopping for her new home and packing and driving the 90 minutes several times to take "stuff" to her new home. She is so excited and I'm trying to be excited for her but I don't want her to leave!
My youngest started back to school this week and he is also doing his behind the wheel driving for his license. I can't tell you how hard it is for me to sit in the passenger seat and watch him drive, he scares the crap out of me! I've also had "homework" every day this week from his teachers, they have contracts and schedules and lists and it goes on and on and on and I have to read and sign everything!
We celebrate 1 birthday, on the 23rd, it's hubby's. We are taking him to Margaritaville and I've already been told I'm the designated driver!
Wishing you the best for your birthday celebrations!!

  5. Hope you had/will have fun at the birthday parties! I don't have kids but I do help out with my nieces and nephews at their birthday parties. Reasonably controlled chaos is what I strive for.

I like Rachel Caine's Weather Warden series much better than her Morganville Vampires series.

  6. Hi Tracy!
    we missed you too *hugs*
    but sometimes priorities change...

wish you all the best, Ina :)
